Before he knows it, she has utterly claimed his heart, and he can’t imagine her being given to anyone else. But can he rescue Caroline from Sir Gerald’s plans for her before it is too late?

Calling like I see it, this is a book that should have aroused the heck out of me and it didn't. The story was well-written and certainly had promise. It lost me early on with the introduction of Brown and Farleigh. Perhaps even Vance. If it had been the erotic education of Caroline by Gerald, I would have stayed with it. And honestly I only stayed with it through the end because I thought Gerald would stop the ceremony and claim her for himself.

The three stars are for the writing and the early pages before the nonsense started.

One hot story!!

I love books by Emily Tilton because, frankly, they usually surprise me in some way. She has such original plot ideas, I mean, who knew this story could be so hot? Along with some hot and steamy action in this book there is also danger and suspense which made for such a fun ride! I look forward to her next book and the wonderful surprise I have come to expect! Well done again, Ms. Tilton! I received this book from Stormy Night Publications as an Advanced Reader Copy.

Voyeurism is NMK, too confusing with it's large cast of characters, not harsh at all IMHO

I found this one just too confusing. I couldn't figure out why there were so many men around nor keep them straight. There were even so many women. Oiy! The idea of this is good but too many characters just kept me distracted instead of engaged and voyeurism is NMK (not my kink) so that did not appeal at all. IF that is your kink then you might enjoy this one for the scene's alone - certainly there are enough of them.

Spend a few dollars more and get a better guide

This is a good guide for the beginner. It moves you through learning Access in a logical way. However, if you think you are going to read this book and be able to design a database that works, think again.

Creating a working relational database is not as easy as one might think. If you don't set up your tables and table relationship the right way, queries and forms will not work properly or will not work at all. Although the author discusses building table relationships, it's more about how to mechanically do it in Access rather than the theory behind it. Access has 2 relationship types and the author decides to only teach you how to set up ONE of them. Also, even though the author discusses multivalued fields, he decides that they shouldn't be used and doesn't bother to teach the user how to set one up. He recommends a junction table but never teaches you how to set one one up.

Access has a simple way to create a backup of your database, but for some reason, the author totally ignores this. He also recommends that you do this ridiculously long and complicated way of backing up just one table before making changes when backing up the whole database is much quicker.

As for form design, the author doesn't go into much detail about subforms. Subforms are great...when the work. But, if you didn't set up your relationships correctly (or your tables), subforms will not link properly and won't work. If you try to create a subform using the Forms Wizard and it doesn't work because your relationships are hosed, then what? You have to use the drag and drop method, which the author doesn't even mention.

This is as far as a got in the book. I decided it was better to send this back to the library and start over again with a better Access guide.

I would not recommend this book unless you already have extensive data base ...

If you have database building experience, this book might be helpful. I do not have experience (hence - the "for dummies"). I am computer literate, and do use the other MS programs. That knowledge does not help with database building. I find the program itself very complicate with all it's layers and different views. The book added to the complexity and left me very frustrated trying to comprehend exactly what it was instructing me to do. I would not recommend this book unless you already have extensive data base experience.

About the Author
Donald W. Pfaff heads the Laboratory of Neurobiology and Behavior at The Rockefeller University. He received his scientific training at Harvard University and MIT and is a member of the National Academy of Science and a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Pfaff's laboratory focuses on steroid hormones and brain function, interactions among transcription factors, luteinizing-hormone-releasing-hormone neurons, and genes influencing neuronal functions. He is the author or coauthor of over 10 books and more than 800 research publications.

Marian Jo�ls obtained her PhD degree in Utrecht (1984) with David de Wied. She carried out postdoctoral research at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla California. Between 1991 and 2009 she was appointed at the University of Amsterdam, first as associate professor and subsequently as full professor in neurobiology. Since 2009 she is (full) professor of neuroscience in Utrecht. Currently she is scientific director of the Brain Center Rudolf Magnus. Her research focuses on the effects of stress in the brain. With patch clamp technology, she studies how corticosteroid hormones change cellular function of limbic neurons. This is linked to the underlying molecular mechanism and the consequences at the circuit level. As a final step, the effects of stress on functional connectivity and behavioral outcome are studied, both in rodents and humans. In her work, she pays particular attention to the influence of stress during early life and the result of prolonged periods of stress in adulthood. The relevance of such critical periods of stress -in interaction with a vulnerable genetic background- for the development of brain disorders are investigated in various patient cohorts. Her work was published in >275 publications and to date has been cited >15,000 times. Marian Jo�ls was elected as a member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2002. She served as President of the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies between 2012 and 2014.
