not for beginners

Having purchased several books in this series, I figured this one to be aimed at the novice as well. I could not have been more wrong. The photographs are not labled; neither are the diagrams and schematics. If you do not know all of the nomenclature and symbols, as well as have a strong knowledge electric motor construction, this book is useless. So, if you are looking for a guide to what salvaged motor from say an old washer, or an ac unit,or furnace fan, could be used to power your homemade drillpress; forget it. This is not what you want.Despite what the title and blurbs may lead you to believe.

This book , as many in the workshop series are, simply a rehash of old information. This is still a handy reference piece to have on hand. It also should be presented to potential purchasers, that many of theses are from a strictly British backround and viewpoint.
